The Office of International Affairs (OIA) serves as the front door for international initiatives.
The mission is to engage in international activities to provide opportunities for our students, trainees and faculty, to improve health, education, and research in the world, to extend and enhance our impact, and to benefit both our international partners and Weill Cornell.
The objectives of the Office are three-fold:
- Provide a central resource for strategic and logistical support for all global endeavors, inclusive of providing access to travel and medical insurance information for all WCM personnel traveling on behalf of the institution
- Facilitate opportunities for patient care, education and research, by building relationships with foreign institutions and providers, and in doing so developing and broadening WCM’s international brand and reputation
- Contribute to the development of international healthcare systems by leveraging our knowledge and expertise and integrating advanced training into the structure of clinical care delivery
The primary functions of the Office include:
- Central Administration: The Office will serve as the front door for all international inquiries, maintain a repository of all global activity and provide travel information to faculty, staff and students as needed. Learn more about Travel Resources.
- Business Development: The Office team will also actively perform strategic planning to promote the university’s global mission and identify markets in which WCM can contribute positively. We look forward to growing our reach through collaborations with international partners where our mission and vision align. Learn more about ways to Collaborate with Us.
- Global Initiatives: We will work with all departments at WCM to support global projects. We will also pursue opportunities to develop sustainable capacity in education and clinical care globally. See our Global Impact.
